WOOD CRAFTING 101
The forest floor was damp. Trees were in a dark shade
of green. Frogs began to croak. And amidst all of those, a single castle stood
proud.
“Oro-sensei, we heard you summon us. Is
there anything we could do for you?” Shiri, the oldest, asked with deference as
two of her colleagues stood before her. She bowed in front of her sensei to show her everlasting respect
for the wise.
“I have summoned
thee, Shiri-san, Aymi-san and Rizi-san, for the elders had sent me a message.”
“Excuse me, sensei, but what would that message be?”
the second eldest asked politely—making sure that she hadn’t insulted Oro-sensei for it wasn’t her intension. It was
Aymi.
“You are excused, Aymi-san. As you asked, I shall tell you
about the message from above,” he started to clear his voice as he calls out
his trusted shikigami.
“You have
summoned me, Oro-sama,” a shikigami in monkey form appeared in
front of the eldest with a poof. His
master threw him a knowing look and with another poof, he shifted himself into a fine lad. A typical teenage boy.
“Ryuu, get the
crimson red envelope on my table,” he told his shikigami with authority.
“Hai, Oro-sama,” the boy bowed and disappeared.
The girls, except
the eldest, were left stunned by what they saw. It surely was the first time
they saw such a creature.
“Here it is, Oro-sama.”
The two young ones
yelped in surprised. The odd creature
eyed them and gave a bored look.
“You may go,” sensei shooed him away. He bowed and
before he left, he gave the younger ones another glare and snatched his eyes
away as he left and again, with a poof.
Aymi and
Rizi both sighed in relief as the remnants of the poof smoke dispersed themselves.
Oro-sensei gave a little chuckle. “Sorry
about Ryuu. He’s a little... antisocial.”
The girls just
nodded in response.
“So...” sensei’s voice trailed off.
Their heads all
snapped to his direction.
“Would you like to
read the message?”
They all gave him an
approving look.
The message read:
War, chaos
await
Thy
kingdoms chosen by fate
Art of wood
on date
“Lol wut,” Rizi
tried to talk for the first time in a swaggy
manner. Her two older colleagues rolled their eyes at her. Internet freak, they all thought in unison.
Oro-sensei faked a cough, “So...”
The three girls
smiled at him and gave him pairs of thumbs up’s, “Count us in.”
And thus, that was
the beginning of the legendary wood craft wizards.

A FRIENDLY NOTE BY BOBOYO-SAN TO ALL WOOD CRAFTING 101's READERS:
Hi there, bloggers! I would like to note some words that were used in the previous intro.
1) sensei- it is the Japanese word for "teacher". It could also be used as "master".
2) san- an honorific title people in Japan use. It is used to address a person (male or female) with respect.
3) sama- also "master". Used by slaves, assistants (not the light type) etc.
4) shikigami- creatures people summon. May vary in different kinds of animals. Can change themselves to their human form.
5) hai- means "yes" in Japanese.
Well, I think that's about it.
xoxo,
Boboyo-san
